Finally Converted
 The Apple IIGS represented my advancement into the modern era of computing. Prior, I had been using an older Apple model, with super advanced games like Oregon Trail! Or the Atari like Texas Instruments. I suppose, in retrospect, the main reason why I never chose to use Linux is because I was always a few years behind in technology pining for getting what my friends had already gotten tired of. Just getting my first GUI, I couldn't see myself converting back to a DOS like computer. I actually had written my first computer programs in DOS to create some GUI programs so I could experience what my friends had already. It was not until many years later when I realized how valuable starting to write in a language as complicated as Basic at the age of 8 could have been had I continued it. A technical writer now, programming is one of my daily duties, however, I realize now how much cooler stuff I could be doing had I kept at it. Better late than never huh? |
