Desktop shortcut for all users

I am learning how to sue OpenSuse. I have 11.2. I created a desktop short cut for user1. I want the short cut to be available for other users. I search google and "SUSe Studio KDE Howtos" says "If you want to short cut for all users, copy .desktop file from /home/user1/Desktop/myapp.desktop to /etc/skeleton/Desktop " I did that and now I have myapp.desktop under /etc/skeleton/Desktop. 4 -rwxr--r-- 1 root root 345 2011-12-14 14:34 myapp.desktop I logoff user1 and login user2. But the short cut is not showing. Is there anything else I have to do ?
